SAP School

As in the past decades, Singapore schools's commitment to education policies was unfaltering. Chung Cheng High School understood the responsibilities as a newly appointed SAP school to develop pupils who were effectively bilingual. Thus, the 1980s marked the stage for an intensive programme to raise the importance of the English language. This can be seen by its investment in high-tech language laboratories and the promotion of English dramas. The effective "Speak More English" campaign promoted the use of English among students and the subject teachers. Although the school scored great successes in improving the English standard of it pupils, the pupils continued to inherit and imbibe the fine Eastern values and traditions of the school. This initative promoted many English-educated parents to send their children to Chong Cheng High School.
